CRC-16 Kermit is a CRC family algorithm invented in 1981 by Columbia University . It is also known as CRC-16 CCITT reversed and is mainly used in Kermit file transfer protocol.
The digest (hash generated by this algorithm) is 16 bits (2 Bytes) in length.
