SHA-224 is an algorithm invented in 2004 by U.S. National Security Agency . It is also known as SHA-2 and is mainly used in TLS, SSL, PGP, SSH, S/MIME, IPsec.
The digest (hash generated by this algorithm) is 256 bits (32 Bytes) in length.
